Electronic Vehicle Free Ride

During the Kadayawan week, I have seen a number of e-vehicles roaming around the downtown area of Davao City. This vehicles offer a free ride to passengers within downtown area.

These vehicles fascinate me because unlike usual vehicles that run on fossil fuel, they run through charging electricity and they are environmentally friendly.

Sweet Pineapple: Proudly Davao Produce

Before I am a stay-at-home mom (just for 1 week because Mom and Papa are on vacation in Singapore), I joined my colleagues in having a mobile library in Subasta, Calinan, Davao City. It's a community outreach which our boss prefers to label "resource sharing". I was very excited because I have never been to the place.

Our partner for this "resource sharing" is DAVCO or Davao Agricultural Ventures Corporation owned by the Florendos. They gave us pineapple and it was really very sweet. We were given a free lunch at their canteen and we were able to roam around their place in Cawayan, Calinan.

In one of the forums I have attended recently, the speaker said that Davao is one of the top producers of pineapple in Asia. Wow!

Sharing to you some photos...

Davao People's Park: Revisited on a Christmas Season

It's been quite long already since I have visited People's Park here in Davao City. I have heard from friends that People's Park is very beautiful now since there are lots of Christmas decors and lights since it's Christmas. I have seen it featured on national television, TV Patrol news.

I wanted to see it myself so before taking our Christmas vacation, me and hubby went there. There were lots of people queuing at the entrance. Near the entrance gate, you'll see the big tree and it was very nice to look at during the night. Christmas lanterns made of native and recycled materials were decorated atop the durian dome. There were really plenty of people inside and there were even excursionists from nearby provinces.

Kwek-Kwek: My Fave Street Food

My fave kwek-kwek

condiments that makes kwek-kwek yummy

Me and hubby were strolling on the streets just having fun to have the "feel" of the pasko fiesta celebration. There are a lot of people on the street. Some are just strolling as well, like us. What I love are the foods. There are many to choose from.

One of my favorite street foods here in Davao City is the kwek-kwek. It's just actually an egg, boiled, soaked in a flour then fried. What makes it delicious is the condiments. It has to be soaked in a yummy spicy vinegar mixed with a little chilli powder to have the spicy taste and a little salt. You can add sliced cucumber or a seaweed which is readily available if you want.

Christmas Bazaar at Gaisano Mall

Have you finished decorating your house with beautiful Christmas decors friends? I know a lot of you have already done beautifying your homes with Christmas decorations since Christmas eve is fast approaching.

In our neighborhood, most of the houses have already their trees and decors. Our street turns into a glowing myriads of colors when the brightness of the day gives way to the night.

But I know that there are also those who are still wanting to add to the decors that they have put up in their houses. If you are one of those and if you are in Davao City, you can go to the Gaisano mall and the Christmas bazaar is still going on. They have a lot of Christmas decor display at the atrium ranging from Christmas trees, replicas of Santa Claus, lanters and more decorations for your trees like balls and many others.

San Pedro street was in fiesta mood. The street was decorated with buntings and there were a lot of booths selling ukay-ukay, products made in Davao and agricultural plants. The city government joined the festive atmosphere by celebrating the Pasko Fiesta since it's already December.
