Davao Agro Trade Fair 2010- Landscape

When you go to the Agro -Trade fair, there's a portion that asks for an entrance fee of 10 pesos. Not bad because you'll get to see awesome landscapes done by the expert landscapers showcasing their talents here in Davao City. It's actually a contest so you'll see the best of what they can offer.

Here are some photos...

Grand Men Seng Hotel

My sister sent me a text message during my lunch break telling me that she's at grand Men Seng Hotel having a seminar. We agreed to meet at five after my work. Me and hubby went there and we exchange news updates again of our respective lives since I miss her as well. The last time we saw each other was when she was having also a seminar at Marco Polo hotel. She invited us for a dinner but we refused because we were still full from our snacks. I ate rice with pork afritada and fish pinangat courtesy of my office mate Ate Caring in my afternoon snack. My snack was as heavy as my lunch so I refused.

I love the ambiance of Grand Men Seng Hotel. When me and hubby were still dating, we would go the hotel's pool side ihaw-ihaw restaurant and would have dinner there. Yes, those were the days when we live not on a budget, when we where yet free from house amortization bills and infant formula budget.LOLz.

A Nice Place to Relax from the Hassle of Work

We have been busy on our work in order to survive and meet the needs of our family and our selves. But sometimes we do forget to stop and take a breather from all this. Our body needs a little time to rest too you know. I tried looking for some place to relax and found one at the net. The place can be found 4 kilometers from Gaiole in Chianti, the place is or to be precise a hotel named Hotel Le Pozze di Lecchi is what I'm talking about. The place got one heck of a swimming pool, spa, wine shop, and a restaurant. Check this place out and I'm sure you'll like it.

Abundance of Sineguelas

Sineguelas fruit (aka Spanish plum) brings back a lot of childhood memories in me. I was about 5-12 years old, when my twin, me and my cousins would play in our grandparent's ancestral house in the province and we would climb up to fruit bearing trees in the backyard, one of those is the Seneguelas. Summertime is always fun for kids and what better way to spend summer aside from playing under the sun, flying kites , swimming to the beach is also eating fruits from whatever is available in the backyard:).

Nowadays, seneguelas is in abundance in Bankerohan Public Market here in Davao City. I bought half kilo at first and when me and hubby ate it while watching TV, our little girl loves it too so every time I buy seneguelas, it has to be a kilo. We enjoy it while there are plenty because it usually ceases to be available in the market when the summertime ends.

Mudslinging and those huge billboards

I would have not wanted to talk about politics in this blog but since it's election time and May 10, 2010, the election day is fast approaching, politics is also heating up and talking about it is inevitable.

(photo taken near Apo View Hotel)
The team Nograles wanted for change...as this billboard is saying. You can find this billboard in many streets in Davao city

(photo taken in Lanang)
As an answer to the call for change by team Nograles, the team Duterte has this answer...you can also find this billboard in major thoroughfares in Davao City

I am not endorsing any political candidate here but I can't help myself sharing you guys some of the billboards and tarpaulins from big local politicians here in Davao that I find amusing. It's no secret to the people of Davao that team Nograles and team Duterte have been mudslinging, throwing garbage to each other and some are even already below the belt.

As a resident in Davao, all I can say is that may the best team win. If you ask me guys who am I voting for in the coming elections, I'm sorry guys, that's a secret.LOLz.

A Day in Paradise Island

strolling

hubby, pretending to be a lifeguard

enjoying the turquoise blue waters

Whew! Fresh from our beach escapade at Paradise park and beach resort in Samal Island. Me and hubby decided to go home because we feel sleepy already after swimming and eating a lot. When I look at the photos of my camera seeing my daughter, I just feel the urge to go home because I miss her. Yeah, even a whole day that I don't see my little girl I miss her right away especially that a lot of little cuties are in the beach and it made me remember my own little one.

Today is our scheduled year-end bonding at work and we decided to have it at paradise island beach resort. The group decided to have it today since tomorrow is a holiday. We are allowed to bring with us our loved ones like hubby or wife, children or siblings but no boyfriend or girlfriend. To my single colleagues, sorry folks :). Our boss says they might get OP (out of place) and intimidated. So, to my single workmates, go get married first so you can bring with you your lovey dovey next year we'll have again our bonding.

It's been around six years already since my last visit to this resort. We visit Samal island every year but to the other resorts of the island. There's really a huge improvement since I went there. They were able to maintain their well-manicured plants and even make it more beautiful. I have also observed that they have now a number of cottages than my previous visit.
