I've been to the Bankerohan Public Market and was delighted to see an abundant display of lanzones fruit. The price is just 35-40 per kilo. Wow! Affordable. I'm just wondering why it is abundant this time of the year when the usual harvest time or season of Lanzones is in August to September, just in time for the Kadayawan festival - festival of abundant blessings, of abundant harvest. Is this an effect of the global warming? It could be. Weather is becoming unpredictable and El Niño and La Niña seasons can be sporadic in different months of the year making fruit harvest not in it's usual time. Nevertheless, I'm still delighted of the abundance of lanzones and my gastronomic cravings for it will finally be satisfied:).

Lasik laser vision correction surgery
I'm currently wearing contact lenses for I'm near-sighted, my grade is 200, both eyes. My day would be a misery if I don't wear it because my vision is blurred and it will cause me stress. I heard about this lasik laser vision correction surgery and when I searched the net, I found a great site about it, the Stahl Eye Center which has three locations in New York including Manhattan and Long Island. They have great doctors that are graduates from top universities such as UCLA, John Hopkins and Yale. I'm really considering undergoing this surgery because it is normally has no pain and recovery time is just short. It can be as little as a few hours, but most see well in about a day or two. So, I'm looking forward when I'm gonna finally say goodbye to wearing my contact lenses.

Reaching out
Actually this reach out happened on the last week of December. While checking on my photo files, I get across the photos we have during our reach out together with my workmates so I'm sharing this to you. "Reach out" is our way of saying thank you for the blessings we receive and it's a way of sharing our blessings to our brothers and sisters who need it most. As it is said, "No one is too poor as nothing to give and no one is too rich as nothing to receive". So in our own little way, we are reaching out to the people in Lasang, the last barangay in Davao, going north. We used to visit orphanage homes, home for the aged and other communities but this time, we make it different. According to the parish priest, a lot of the parishioners there have children who have not yet baptized. So we sponsored a baptism for them. Here are the photos:

A weekend with the rides
My little gurl loves to ride. Since Gmall is the most accessible to us, we went there riding these cute little animals. Good thing it's huge enough to have hubby ride with her in it. Here's my girl and my man enjoying the ride:)

Manny Villar Visits Davao
When I was on my way home yesterday, I heard a familiar song played very loudly when I was at Carpenter, Agdao. Then I heard the people in the street shouting "Villar". I looked at the other lane of the street and there I saw Manny Villar at the back of a Toyota hilux truck, waving his hands and smiling to the people around. His supporters who ride with him in the hilux throw away candies colored orange, which is his trademark color. That was the first time I saw him in person. Well, it's campaign period so we can really expect a lot of personalities running for positions to do their campaign sorties here in Davao, especially that the Davao charter anniversary is approaching.
